  Mars Ground Tracks by Orbit
This plot shows the planetocentric east longitude and latitude of the MGS spacecraft while it is below 700 km altitude.  The square marks periapsis.  The plot background is a shaded relief map of Mars, which was obtained from the USGS Web Page.  The cylindrical equidistant projection is highly distorted near the poles.  A higher resolution postscript version of this image is here:  (543K,ps) For older plots,click here.
