Low-Resolution Field Instrument Plots: Orbit 251
We have completed our last attempt to free wire B. We lowered the spin
to ~3.5 RPM which has ~2 gm of force on wire B. We then let out wires C and D
at an odd pedundulum period to induce a large swaying. Spin up started
Friday afternoon. We will know on Sunday if B is free.
Otherwise, the fields instrument is working very well. There is very low
distortion on the DC and low noise in the AC. We have seen ~1 V/m
electrostatic shocks (below).
Below is the lowest resolution data we can take. Friday went from
engineering mode to mode 2 - we will get higher resolution data once
the triggers are set.
